Kitesurfing mit Bigdayz auf karpathos

Kiten:

Das Big Dayz-Team wird ab 2014 auf Karpathos eine Station haben. In diesem Jahr war das noch nicht der Fall, was dem Kitevergnügen jedoch keinen Abbruch getan hat. Es wurden einfach alle Materialien mit dem gelben (Party-) Bus transportiert. In diesem Jahr hatten wir zwei Spots zur Auswahl. Der Secretspot liegt etwas versteckt (wie der Name schon sagt) und es verirren sich selten Badegäste hierher. Für Anfänger etwas tricky, da sich einige glatte Steine unter Wasser im Einstiegsbereich befinden. Geschult wird mit Anfängern daher auf dem Meer, vom Zodiac aus.

Dank Zodiac ist auch immer Rettung in Sicht, wenn nötig.

Der Wind ist teilweise etwas böig und schön stark, so dass ich an den meisten Tagen mit meinem 5er Rebell raus konnte.

Der zweite Spot ist der Luvspot. Dieser liegt an einem schönen grossen Beach und dort wird künftig auch die Station sein. Hier gibt es jetzt schon einen kleinen Wohnwagen, an dem ein superentspannter Local kleine Speisen und Drinks verkauft. Am Luvspot gab es dann auch ordentlich Wellen.

Bei Mojo vom BigDayzTeam hatte ich eine super Refresherstunde und er hat mir auch danach noch fleissig Tipps gegeben und auf mich aufgepasst.

Für Anfänger sei aber klar gesagt, dass es nicht die Soma Bay ist, ein bisschen Zähnezusammenbeissen gehört schon dazu .

Surroundings:

Alles hat prima geklappt, Shuttle, super nette Pension, super Zimmer. Alle sehr freundlich vor Ort, sei es in der Taverna, Minimarket oder im Club Mistral.

Am no-windy-Freitag haben die BigDayzJungs mit uns Gästen einen Ausflug über die Insel gemacht. Alle zusammen, war extrem schön. Baden, Essen, lachen, trinken, die ganze Zeit im Bus gesungen, die Stimmung kann man gar nicht beschreiben. Das war einfach traumhaft. Ob sich das wiederholen lässt?!

Booking:

Auch die Hilfe beim Buchen ist erwähnenswert. Als ich für einen anderen Kiteurlaub was buchen wollte, habe ich teilweise tagelang auf Antwort von Kitereiseveranstaltern (!) gewartet und musste nochmal nachfassen etc. Das gibt es bei BigDayz nicht, man bekommt gleich Antwort. Zum Glück, ich will ja schliesslich buchen und einen Flug fixieren und daraus keine zweiwöchige Beschäftigung machen!

Kitesurfing with BigDayz on Karpathos Island (Greece)

Kiting:

The BigDayzTeam will open a kitesurfing station on Karpathos in 2014. This year, however, there was no station yet, but anyway it was great fun. All the stuff we needed was in our yellow (party-) bus.
We had two main spots. The secret spot (literally), nice and hidden, therefore only very few bathing guests. For beginners this one is quite tricky, as there are slippery stones in the entrance area. Lessons for beginners take place on the open sea with the Zodiakboat.

Thanks to the Zodiak there is always help when needed.

The wind was often gusty and strong, so I could use my 5m2 on most of the Dayz.

The second spot is called Luvspot, situated at a nice big beach. The station will be located here next year. An easygoing local is already there selling some food and drinks. This is a wavy spot.

I booked a supernice refresherlesson with Mojo from BigDayz. Afterwards he even gave me further tips and took good care of me.

But for beginners, I clearly have to say: grit your teeth.

Surroundings:

Everything went very well, shuttle, super nice apt, nice rooms. Everyone there is friendly, like e.g. people at the Taverna, the Minimarket or Club Mistral.

We had a no-windy-Friday, so the BigDayzGuys went on a nice trip with all the guests and showed us the island. This was super nice, swimming, chilling, lunch, drinks, singing in the bus. Amazing atmosphere; difficult to describe.

Booking:

The BigDayzOffice is super helpful and fast. When I wanted to book another kite holiday with a kite travel agency (!) I often had to wait often for days to get a reply. I was glad, this wasn`t the case with BigDayz. Using BigDayz you can set it, book it and go!
