BIC SPORT SELLS THE TAKOON KITEBOARDING BRAND

Effective as of today, BIC Sport has sold the Takoon Kiteboarding Brand to P&J Design SAS.

P&J Design is owned by Pierre Engel - ex GM of Gaastra France and Troc de l’Ile, & Jacques Freydrich - ex GM of Neil Pryde Europe. Both owners have an extensive experience in the water sports brand and distribution business, and are avid kiteboarders.

Takoon Kiteboarding will now be based completely in Mauguio, at the same location as the actual product development and marketing team. All contacts with regards to sales, distribution, orders and shipments should be addressed to this new address (see below) as of 6th June 2011, which will be fully operational after a 1 week transition period.

Thierry Verneuil, President of BIC Sport, commented on this transition of activity: “This is an opportunity for our company to reallocate additional resources to the manufacturing side of our business. Takoon is a 100% outsourced product while our real expertise is in manufacturing, where we do have world leading positions.
I am sure that P&J will make Takoon into one of the market leading Kiteboarding brands in a very short time. We wish them the best in this exciting opportunity, and we are sure that with the foundation we have given them, it will be a very prosperous challenge.”
