Maasvlakte/Slufter will close by the end of the year.

It is 99% certain that the kitespot at Maasvlakte/Slufter will close at the end of this year because to many kiters didn't pay attention to te rules at the spot and went kiteboarding in the natural reserve.

We tried everything this year to make clear that you can't kite, but if we get an invasion like last sunday the locals are overwhelmed and outnumbered to talk everybody out the natural reserve (if they would listen at all) giving the government enough reasons to just banish kiters from this location.

Sadly this is not the only location in Holland where tourists just ignore the rules and thus bringing spots like Ouddorp, Oostvoorne, Mirns in danger of being closed because closing a spot is less expensive then paying for a partol-boat every kiteable day.

That sucks big time! I only kitet at the MV once this spring, and loved it like always. However, I looked at the NKV Page to check the area before it went there the first time, so I was aware of the natural reserve and respected the area. It is really a pity that a spot will be closed due to ignorance.

Is there anything we can do about it? Maybe start a partition?

Did you guys have a lawyer look over the kiteban? I am unfortunately only a German lawyer, but there might be some legal arguments to lift the ban.
