Sal Anfang Dezember - Tipps? Wind?

Hallo!

Wir überlegen Anfang Dezember nach Sal zu fliegen.

Wie ist es denn da mit der Windwahrscheinlichkeit?

Gibt es sonst noch Tipps? Kann man vom RIU Hotel aus direkt loskiten?

Dez. ist an sich etwas zeitig
ob direkt vor dem RIU zu starten ist, weiß ich nicht, bin eher der Boavistakenner
auf der Inselseite mit dem RIU ist der Wind ablandig, viele fahren täglich rüber auf die auflandige Seite

It hurts every time to see that Cape Verde is shown from a negative side - even though this side does not represent the entire 10 islands at all!

It is easy and understandable to book with TUI/Thomson and RIU (all the same company) because the deals seem so good.
Actually, if you just want sun, beach and hotel and no more, the deal is excellent.

I would argue that if you want to be at the best kitesurf spots and want to see more, these deals are actually poor value for money.

Hi Ivhe,

Sao Vicente is where I decided to set up a kitesurf center, because it is unspoilt, lots of space on the water, the true Cape Verde, it has beautiful landscapes (together with Santo Antao), a lively culture and lots of things to do and see.

I need to live on the islands for 8 months (windy season) and would get too bored on Sal or Boa Vista!

Windy season spans mid-October to end June (including beginning December) with >90% of time with good wind for kitesurfing. At our spot (Salamansa) the most common wind is 16-18 knots.


To book: we take care of everything: accommodation, flight, local transport.

Hi FCUK

November is indeed good too (>90% of time with good wind). My fiancee, Marc, uses a 10m kite with wave board most of the time (he weighs 95kg).

If you are into waves: Salamansa bay is good for all levels: beginners - world class because in 1 bay we have a beach break, 3 reef breaks and 1 point break. Each of the reef breaks has different wave sizes from small, to medium to big.
