Kann mir einer sagen ob man sich in Port pollenća ein foil zum üben leihen kann bei einer der kiteschulen? Habe vergessen wie der deutsche kitelehrer (Mitte 30) dort heißt...... War ein sehr freundlicher Typ, habe mich mit ihm schon paar mal unterhalten, aber leider seinen Namen vergessen. Evtl kann mir einer von euch die Kette aufs Rad ziehen:D

Aber ich werde meine Person am Strand bestimmt finden, wenn Wind ist. Denke, ein foil leihen wird schon möglich sein.

Choose the right kite size. A kite that is too big can be extremely dangerous, but even in strong winds a small kite can also become very dangerous.

Keep your kite in good condition

One of the best ways to avoid dangers at your kitesurfing session is the condition of your gear. Your kite should always be kept in good condition. The most important thing to remember when kiting is to be aware and to recognize and avoid dangers before they may occur.

Your kite, kite bar and lines should be in good condition. Your depower line must also be kept well and without excessive erossion, otherwise replace them as soon as possible.

Launch, land and fly your kite

When launching you should move right or left until finding the right angle -90 degrees on a tube kite- don’t expect that the assistant will fing the correct launching angle, you have the kite bar in your hands, your assistant the kite. You find the right angle, he or she just keep hold of your kite until you give the sign of launch.

Wrong kite use carries a high risk of collision if something goes wrong.
Not enough space to start your kite? Trees, a wall, a fence, rocks?
Look for a more suitable location and always keep a safe distance from at least one line between yourself and people or obstacles.

A kite can be dangerous as long as the kiter stays connected! Practice the proper use of the security system and do not hesitate to activate it in a dangerous situation. If necessary, disconnect the safety line if the kite is still pulling.

Consider as well that, doing so, the kite, lines and bar would drift downwind creating a big risk to anything situated downwind of where you are, that’s why your precautions should start by choosing the right spot

Hallo, sind im August in der Ecke Son Serra, Plaja de Mira, Polenca Bay.
Welche Groessen wuerdet ihr einstecken?
Wie ist in der Ecke die Windsituation allgemein?

Windverhältnisse Bucht von Pollenca

Hallo, wir waren zwei Jahre hintereinander in den Sommerferien im Portblue Club Pollentia Resort. Hauptsächlich gibt es ab ca 13 bis 14 Uhr für ca 2 Std. kitebaren Wind (Thermik). Da sollte man dann auch direkt am Start sein, sonst bist du gerade mit dem Aufbauen fertig und der Wind lässt nach. Ist mir mehrfach passiert. Ich bin fast ausschließlich meine beiden FS Matten in 21 und 15 geflogen. Mehr hatte ich auch nicht mit. Einmal hat es richtig gewindet und da habe ich mir direkt am Kitespot an der Kiteschule Pura Vida einen 8er ausgeliehen. Falls du foilst, brauchst du max. nur einen 12er.

Kiten bei Westwind

Sorry muss den Thread noch einmal nach oben holen.
Ich bin seit Juni in der glücklichen Lage, öfter aufs Mallorca zu sein.
Nun über den Jahreswechsel. Thermik gibt es keine mehr und die Windrichtung ist für die nächsten Tage eher West, teilweise Nordwest.

Welche Spots gehen bei der Windrichtung?
Nach Palma sind es leider gut ne Stunde und tatsächlich ist der Wind dort eher schwach. Kann jemand was zu Son Serra de Marina bei Nordwest sagen oder hat sonst einen brauchbaren Tip?
